Hey, I’m Kim.

My name is Kimberly Embleton, Kim for short. I am a registered social worker (#15495) with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.

I hold a Master’s of Social Work from the University of British Columbia and am a certified Synergetic Play Therapist.

I specialize in working with children/youth who have histories of trauma, involvement with child protection and/or foster or out of home placements.

I utilize skills from a variety of modalities and theories including Synergetic Play Therapy, Attachment Theory, Child Development, Family Systems & utilize a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens. I whole heartedly believe in meeting the child where they are at; this can look like sessions in the car/waiting room to allow the child to enter my space on their terms.

Sessions include integration of regulation in the nervous system through in the moment teaching. I also works with identified support people to educate and incorporate teachings in other environments such as home, school & community.
